ESU13 Leads Multi-State Collaboration
Educational Service Unit 13 announced the creation of a multi-state doctoral-level psychology internship consortium to attract new psychology professionals and training to meet the increased needs for people across western Nebraska and eastern Colorado.
The High Plains Psychology Internship Consortium (HP-PIC) is the collaborative effort of three agencies: Educational Service Unit 13 (Scottsbluff), Converge Day Treatment Center (Brush, Colorado) and the University of Northern Colorado Department of School Psychology (Greeley, Colorado).
The collaborative will create a high-quality doctoral level internship to meet the unique clinical and workforce needs of people across rural Colorado and Nebraska to better meet the increased mental health needs within rural school systems and communities.
The need has been at the forefront of many recent statewide discussions, including the behavioral health workforce. ESU #13 Administrator Dr. Jeff West has been among those participating in these conversations and has recognized the need for innovation to bring new talent to the area workforce.
The Scottsbluff Star Herald recently published a great article hightlighting this new venture.....
