Welcome to ESU 13!

 

Thank you for visiting our website! Educational Service Unit (ESU) 13 is committed to serving, supporting, and empowering the staff of the school districts they proudly serve. It is our hope that you will find ESU 13 to be an innovative, responsive, relationship based organization. We proudly serve more than 14,000 students and nearly 1,300 teachers in an area spanning 14,181 square miles across 11 counties in western Nebraska. Without question, the strength of ESU 13 is the highly skilled, dedicated, and service oriented staff.

 

In August of 1965 the Nebraska Legislature passed LB 301 creating 19 ESUs to provide supplementary educational services to member school districts. ESU 13 became fully operational in 1967. Over the years, the number of ESUs in Nebraska has reduced from 19 to 17 as ESU 13 merged with ESU 12 in Alliance in 1998 and ESU 14 in Sidney in 2005.

 

The ESU 13 Administration Office strives to support staff and services by securing and allocating revenue sources; utilizing and modeling updated practices and procedures; providing effective and timely communication; and maintaining a positive culture of community. The Administration Office is responsible for insuring compliance with Title 92, Nebraska Administrative Code, and Rule 84 Regulations for Educational Service Units.
